Tell Governor Murphy and Legislators to Fully Restore Funding for Public Charter School Emergent Facilities Needs!

Dear Public Charter School Supporter,

Despite serving 62,000 students statewide, including 1 in 5 students in New Jersey’s most underserved communities, public charter schools have been excluded from school construction funding. And now Governor Murphy’s proposed budget would cut critical aid for emergency repairs and maintenance projects in public charter schools.
We have students in buildings that are over 100 years old where the pipes burst, boilers break, windows won’t open and roofs leak. Just like our traditional school counterparts, public charter schools need to repair and upgrade aging school facilities. This is about FAIRNESS and EQUITY so that all students, including public charter school students, can attend safe, secure, modern and healthy schools.
Please send a letter to Governor Murphy and the Legislature to demand that public charter schools be treated fairly and have critical school facilities aid restored!
Sincerely,
Harry Lee, President and CEO
New Jersey Public Charter Schools Association
